A Whole New Chapter

It's a new footballing season as well as a fresh academic year! And if memory serves me right both of them should end at right about the same time =)

Well, tomorrow I begin my journey as a university student, meaning I begin on a clean slate. I just hope I can look back on this entry in 5 year's time and say what an amazing journey it has been.

Where Your Treasure Is, There Will Your Heart Be Also

Whoa the past few days have been an emotional rollercoaster for me. From the euphoria of Medicamp to the final instalment of Harry Potter. But let's begin from the start shall we?

If you thought Medicampers were boring, geeky people you were so wrong. My OG was so damn fun! We were Sombala by the way and we played with integrity and intensity. I'm sure we shocked many other OGs with our move not to steal their prizes even though we had earned that right through the auction. Plus we all had our own little quirks and were forever obsessed with the popular 'fixture' at Changi and a certain phenomenon where the Pectoralis Major were overdeveloped. I was so glad I signed up for this camp cause it turned out to be one of the best ever. Unfortunately I'll never be able to listen to 'Girlfriend' by Avril Lavigne normally ever again. Each time the song is played there will be a mad rush to find partners and the throwing of arms and legs in all sorts of different directions. But of course the camp wouldn't have been a success if not for the OGLs who worked tirelessly and were always willing to give valuable advice even though they barely knew us at the start. Not to mention they must have sacrificed a sizeable portion of their holidays to prepare for this. Just wanted them to know their efforts are being appreciated =)

Anyway, the long awaited Book 7 is out! It's highly complicated and emotional especially when you look at the casualties. There was simply too much carnage for me since each character was so special. But at the end of it, the book had a special message which I can relate to. Now all I have to do is read the book again since there were parts where I just gleaned over.

the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death

The Rebellion Begins

I must admit that even as an ardent Harry Potter fan the fifth movie left me with a lingering sense of dissapointment as I left the cinema. No I didn't catch it with the SOM people as there was the initial uncertainty of getting a ticket and I absolutely had to watch it once it came out. To me, the past few movies just didn't do justice to the books where the plot was carefully crafted and the suspense maintained. Instead it was the classic case of squeezing too much information into too few frames. Why don't they just follow LOTR and just create a movie of epical proportions? We certainly deserved it after such a long wait.

However, there were certain aspects that made me smile during the movie. Rather unexpectedly, Luna Lovegood has a sexy voice! Yeah it was mostly monotonous during the movie but imagine if she was speaking to you normally. And of course Emma Watson didn't dissapoint. No doubt she was more glamourous in the last one but she still looked good as ever. Plus I personally liked her hair tied back.

On another note altogether, I've been rather uncertain of myself. How could I have aged so much in 3 years? In 2004 I was a picture of contentment. Now I'm going to be so old and will have to cope with so many new things. Things I admit I'm ill-prepared for. And why is it so difficult to trust anymore? Perhaps I've been too comfortable for my own good.

And after reviewing pictures of girls that I consider attractive, I've made an interesting discovery! It's all in the eyes and quite possibly, the hair. Better yet, it's eyes that display vulnerability and a certain steel at the same time that captivates me. Thus far I've only seen this once or maybe twice at the most.

Jeisa Chiminazzo. Now that's a name and a face to remember. Along with Jessica Stam. Megan Fox isn't too bad either. I can only hope that I am blessed enough to meet someone with those features. Not necessarily marry. Just to be in the same room and have a picture taken would be more than sufficient.

Keep on dreaming Su, just keep on dreaming.

Too Much of A Good Thing

Apparently there's tonnes of stuff that are happening right now just when I was already settling into a comfortable routine of being immersed in the wonders of DVD/VCDs or books. Let's take a look shall we?

1)Harry Potter Screening of the Order of the Phoenix on 11th July courtesy of the YLL School of Medicine.

2)Medi camp from the 16th to the 19th of July at Aloha Loyang.

3)Ministry of Sound Invitational Party on the 21st where entrance is possibly free depending on how fast I respond.

4)Short overseas trip(unconfirmed) from the 26th to the 29th.

To go or not to go? Please don't tell me I have to decide by tossing a coin.

I Walk A Lonely Road

the only one that have i ever known....

Once again I feel alone in this world right now. All my good friends have been taken away by the SAF leaving me to fend for myself. I am at a total loss at what to do except what BMTC has taught me. Run, exercise, run some more and enjoy civillian life.Oh yes, drink plenty of water. So feel free to ask Suhairi out. If his pockets aren't empty he'll gladly accompany you. Just make sure it doesn't clash with his other commitments that are classified till deemed fit to be relased.

Oh how I wish they would release the Harry Potter film and book immediately. But then again, I've got nobody to watch it with. At least I can lock myself up with the book.

And please let Fabregas bloom into the world-class player we know he can be. In fact let all the young ones mature and improve. And use the money that came from Henry's sale to buy a HUGE superstar. Maybe a Fernando Torres/ David Villa/Lukas Podolski will do. Just someone who can score goals.

I Hope You Had The Time of Your Life

We were strangers on the first day but 9 weeks and lots of sweat later, we were brothers. And now we're all going to report to our new units, to serve in different capacities. So before we all go our separate ways I just wanna thank my sectionmates and platoon for putting up with me when i know I can be difficult. I'll miss you people and all the shit we did in the bunks.  All the best guys!

This song right here goes out to Jeremy, Ali, Sherwin, Qifeng, Shin Loong, Dinie, Zhiqiang, Eugene, Xiangjie, Arif and Sam. The best people to mess around with during BMTC lol

Green Day- Time of Your Life

Another turning point a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist directs you where to go
So make the best of this test and don't ask why
It's not a question but a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

So take the photographs and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while

It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

Your Belief Shapes Your Quality Of Life

Leopard company Games Day Champions for the 8th time in a row. Now that's what I call fighting spirit. It really makes me proud to have trained under such commanders. So much so that I really don't mind whichever Command School I get posted to.

They say you start the 24 km route march a boy and finish it as a man. I'm not sure how true that is but it certainly feels good that you've pushed and challenged yourself mentally. Fatigue set it of course but never the idea of giving up. Especially not when we've come so far.

Will I miss BMTC? Most probably yes. Will i miss my section? Most definitely. Did I learn something from this 9 weeks? For sure. Do i want to fire another M-16 round? Hell no.

It's time to POP with my head held high.

Whatever Pain May Come

Today marks the last day I am a civillian! That means goodbye hair and hello thick black specs. Quite possibly goodbye love handles and hello six pack? Hopefully a lean mean Suhairi will emerge after 2 weeks. All I've got to do is get over the fact that my life will be controlled by someone else other than me. Easier said than done right? Hopefully my uniform group days will come in handy.

SO!

Please message me if there's anything(I gotta conserve my battery lifespan) or email if it's not urgent.

Damn so many things are happening while i'm In NS. The release of the Harry Potter book/movie, Spiderman 3, Linkin Park's album etc. But hopefully I'll get to book out =)

so let mercy come and wash away what i've done

12 Days

Since I'll be off to Tekong soon I wanna do a little list of interesting stuff that has happened the past few years that will (hopefully) make me laugh as I look back in a few year's time.

-Being infatuated with girls with a mixed heritage(Kristin Kreuk for example)

-Taking a liking to shows which feature doctors prominently(Grey's Anatomy anyone?)

-Refusing to sport any hairstyle that requires a comb

-Constantly sleeping on the right side of the bed even though there's enough space for me to roll around(it's a queen sized bed if you were wondering)

-Being loyal to Nokia even though other brands offer more features(Nokia should seriously consider giving me a free phone)

-Always thinking that it'll take me an hour to go to anywhere in Singapore even though it may not be so( Orchard's an hour away, City Hall is an hour away, Jurong is an hour away, Sentosa is an hour away etc)

-If I hate something initially it usually means I'll end up loving it(I didn't like Snow Patrol but look at how things have changed)

-Being interviewed by Berita Harian and Mediacorp Suria but not appearing for either(HAHAHAHA!)

-Appearing on TV twice if I'm not mistaken( One was an MTV interview, the other was a time-filler in Berita)

-Lagging behind in terms of fad(I read DaVinci's code waaay after everybody and became a Harry Potter fan like after the 4th book)

-It took me 16 years to start eating greens(even now i avoid some types of veggie)

-I put songs that I like on repeat until I get totally bored of it(the cycles continues with a new song)

-My MSN nicknames are usually lyrics of a song

That's all I can think of for now =)
